Traditional feng Shui
Translated, "Feng" means wind and "Shui" means water. Feng Shui is a study of our internal and external environment (space) and how over time, this affects our wellbeing. If you live or work in a space that was built at the right time, then you will prosper and your relationships and health will be good. To determine whether a space brings prosperity, good health and harmony to the people is the professional Feng Shui consultant's job.
This art seeks to achieve harmony and balance between ourselves and our surroundings. When you choose a home, move in and arrange your furniture you are already either practicing good Feng Shui or bad Feng Shui.
Feng Shui was practiced thousands of years ago by the ancient Chinese. It is only in the last 20 years that it has become known in the West. For some, this presented a perfect money-making opportunity. Many a marketing gimmick has been used by unscrupulous "practitioners" who prey on the ignorance, greed, fear and quick-fix syndrome of their clients. The birth of this "fad feng shui" along with books promising to show the public the way to riches has given Traditional Feng Shui a bad name. As information of traditional feng shui becomes more accessible, it is hoped that this treasure of knowledge will finally earn the respect it deserves in the western world.
